PK Transport Systems produced the first tram body at the Engels Electric Transport Plant

The first tram body was produced at the Engels Electric Transport Plant (EZET, part of PK Transport Systems) in the Saratov region. Previously, the enterprise specialized exclusively in wheeled electric transport, however, the company's management decided to add additional workload to the site, which made it possible to create new jobs.

"The first was the body of the tram 71-911EM Lionet, - commented the president of PK Transport Systems Feliks Vinokur. - For this, at the Engels Electric Transport Plant, 7 large assembly slipways and a general assembly slipway were installed. This equipment allows making several modifications of trams in the same stocks. In 2021, we plan to install additional equipment to increase the line's productivity”.

PK Transport Systems rented production facilities in the Saratov Region in November 2019 and created its own separate division - the Engels Electric Transport Plant. Initially, the task was to establish the production of wheeled electric vehicles. The company received its first order in February 2020 - 87 Admiral trolleybuses for St. Petersburg. In May, 5 units of equipment were produced, in June - 13. By December 2020, at least 18-19 trolleybuses per month are produced at the Engels Electric Transport Plant.

“By the end of the year, we increased labor productivity by 3.5-4 times, compared to April-May, when we had just started to fulfill the first order for St. Petersburg,” noted Felix Vinokur, President of PK Transport Systems. - In 2021, we set a goal to produce at least 23-25 trolleybuses per month. There is something to strive for and something to work on."

In 2020, the company's staff increased to 386 people, although 232 people worked here in May. The demand for personnel increased with the increase in orders for the production of trolleybuses, incl. 33 units for Omsk and 31 for Ivanovo. Both contracts have been successfully completed.

In total, in 2020, the Engels Electric Transport Plant manufactured 151 Admiral trolleybuses, including 33 trolleybus bodies for the Nevsky Electric Transport Plant named after F.A. Pirotsky (NZET, also part of PK Transport Systems). In September 2020, a line for the final assembly of trolleybuses was put into operation at NZET, which operates in parallel to the facilities operating at EZET.

Also at the Engels Electric Transport Plant, the body of an articulated electric bus was assembled - a unique modern development by PK Transport Systems on the Russian market.

“Despite the economic instability and restrictions associated with the spread of the coronavirus, in 2020 all our production sites continued their work in full compliance with all epidemiological measures,” concluded Feliks Vinokur. - Yes, there were difficulties, but we overcame them with dignity. We have successfully produced trolleybuses for Omsk and Ivanovo, made the body of an articulated electric bus and launched the production of tram bodies. In 2021, we will continue to modernize the Engels Electric Transport Plant. In addition, we plan to update some production equipment and install a painting chamber, which will increase the productivity of the trolleybus line and improve product quality. I am sure that all this will help us achieve the main goal - to increase our presence in the trolleybus market from 54% to 70%. ”
