On May 28, 2020, PC Transport Systems, a Russian developer and manufacturer of urban electric transport, handed over to the State Unitary Enterprise Gorelektrotrans of St. Petersburg five innovative new generation Admiral 6281 trolleybuses manufactured at the Engels Electric Transport Plant. The vehicles covered a distance of over 1600 kilometers on special trucks.
“St. Petersburg is actively renewing the rolling stock of passenger urban transport, relying on electric transport,” said Feliks Vinokur, President of PC Transport Systems LLC. - The city already has 45 Vityaz M tram cars manufactured by PC Transport Systems. Now we have delivered the first batch of modern low-floor trolleybuses "Admiral 6281", in which we used all the best practices in terms of passenger comfort and operational efficiency, which are implemented in the production of trams. "
The trolleybus "Admiral 6281" belongs to the most modern developments and has no analogues in the domestic market. In its creation, the designers of "PC Transport Systems" used non-combustible composite materials, used aluminum alloys in the interior arrangement, installed new multimedia systems and integrated modern climate control systems that operate in automatic mode and are controlled by the driver.
In addition, in the new Admiral 6281 trolleybuses, PC Transport Systems engineers have improved the control system by using an upgraded CAN bus (digital communication and control system for electrical devices) for each individual vehicle node. This technology, in which the control unit distributes tasks to functional equipment, is also used in trams manufactured by PC Transport Systems.
PC Transport Systems won the tender for the supply of trolleybuses to St. Petersburg in February 2020. Until November, the State Unitary Enterprise "Gorelectrotrans" of St. Petersburg will receive 87 trolleybuses of the "Admiral 6281" model.
