The Russian developer and manufacturer of modern urban electric transport - PC Transport Systems - has completed the delivery of the consignment of 24 nos. upgraded Admiral 6281.01 trolleybuses with increased autonomous run to Saratov. Each of the trolleybuses is designed to carry 85 passengers. The rolling stock was produced at the Engels Electric Transport Plant.
It is worth to mention that in June 2021 PC Transport Systems won the tender for the supply of trolleybuses, which was held by the State Transport Leasing Company, PJSC. Saratov obtained funds to purchase the new trolleybuses from the federal and regional budgets due to the region's participation in the national program for Safe and High-Quality Highways.
"6281.01 Admiral trolleybus has no rivals among its peers in the Russian market'', Felix Vinokur, the President of PC Transport Systems, says. – "This rolling stock with dynamic charging can travel up to 20 kilometers in autonomous mode due to the unique traction battery adapted to Russian operating conditions."
Admiral trolleybus is a completely low-floor model, it has ergonomic bright interior with additional illumination of accumulation areas. The increased carrying capacity of the tram is provided by three wide doorways. Built-in automatic climate control, multimedia systems, USB connectors for charging mobile gadgets make the journey more comfortable.
The interior design made of aluminum reduces the fire load and increases the service life of internal structures, while environmentally friendly electric heating systems reduce the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
The energy storage system installed in the trolleybus is a new domestic layout solution in the field of lithium-ion batteries, developed jointly with the PC Energy Systems. Due to the battery pack weight reduction by 100 kg the manufacturer managed to increase the passenger capacity.
Today, Admiral trolleybuses are successfully operated in St. Petersburg, Omsk, Ivanovo and Samara.
